ANNALIESE MARTIN
Annaliese Martin is an actor, teacher, and aspiring illustrator who has grown up in both Brisbane (Meeanjin) and Caloundra (Callanda). Growing up with a drama teacher for a mother, Annaliese was exposed to the theatre at a young age; viewing her mother’s private speech and drama lessons at just 2 years old. Her acting skills and love of the theatre were cultivated through drama lessons, productions as part of Act Now Performance Group, and both Trinity College and AMEB drama examinations.
In 2022, Annaliese received her Masters of Teaching (Secondary – Drama/English) with Distinction from QUT. Prior to this, in 2020, she graduated from the University of Canberra (in partnership with Tafe QLD), having completed her Bachelor of Acting and Performance with Academic Excellence. During this degree, Annaliese performed a range of characters in various productions, including The Yellow Wallpaper (2018), Macbeth (2019), Camino Real (2019), and Earthquakes in London (2020). She also had the opportunity to devise and perform her own work, Is this You? (2019), as part of the Solo Performance Making Showcase.
Annaliese greatly enjoys both comedic and dramatic theater that explores the whimsy, absurdity, and essence of being human. She is ecstatic to embark on her Apprenticeship with the Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble in 2023.
As well as reading, performing, and researching plays, Annaliese also enjoys honing her illustration, sewing, music, and AUSLAN skills.
Annaliese acknowledges the lands on which she performs, creates, and lives; the Yaggara and Turrabal peoples, and the Kabi Jabi and Jinibara peoples.
