Mikala is an emerging artist in theatre-making and performance with aspirations in the voice-over industry. She has been interested in drama since a young age and when introduced to Shakespeare in high school, her interest only grew. Mikala has explored three of the bard’s works onstage with New Farm Nash Theatre. Those being The Tempest (2016), As You Like It (2018) and Henry IV Part 1 (2019). She also dabbled with musical theatre in the form of productions The Great Fairytale Robbery (2014), Robin Hood the Musical (2017) and The Snow Queen (2019) with Brisbane Arts Theatre, Hairspray (2016) with Harvest Rain Theatre Company and Brigadoon (2017) with Sandgate Theatre.

Mikala’s other theatre credits include Medea (2018) with Underground Productions and The University of Queensland’s Classics and Ancient History Society. As well as Game of Tiaras (2018) with Re-Act Theatre Group, Strathclyde University’s theatre society in Glasgow Scotland where she completed a semester of university exchange. Other than acting, Mikala is also pursuing the directing side of theatre.

The apprenticeship program is Mikala’s first experience working with QSE. She is very excited to undertake formal training and further develop her Shakespearean knowledge and skills with such a talented ensemble.
