Sarah Doyle

2021 will be Sarah’s second year as a QSE Core Ensemble member. Her involvement with the company began when she participated in the Young Actor’s Shakespeare Intensive while in high school. Sarah then completed the QSE Apprenticeship and went on to perform in in QSE’s Hamlet and Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead (Ophelia). She was also involved in QSE’s radio play Macbeth In The Dark (Malcolm and Son of Macduff) during her first year as a Core member.

When she’s not acting within the company, Sarah trains and works as a facilitator for various projects. She has facilitated Kids Collective workshops at Southbank/Roma Street Parklands, assistant facilitated a Theatre of the Oppressed Workshop for UQ’s Mental Health Week, and was recently an Apprentice Facilitator for the 2020 Shakespeare Prison Project. She also occasionally teaches primary and high school children at the Brisbane Drama Studio.

Outside of QSE, Sarah’s primary acting background is in speech and drama. She has completed all eight Trinity College Speech and Drama Exams (receiving seven distinctions) and achieved her Speech and Drama Diploma in Performing (Distinction) in 2018. Sarah has also worked with companies such as Pure Imagination Theatre Company, Act Now Performance Group, and Fame Theatre Company.

Sarah is currently studying a Bachelor of Journalism/Arts (majoring in Writing and Film & Television) at The University of Queensland. Upon completion, she hopes this will allow her to write insightfully and creatively about whatever thread she pulls next.
