WILLEM WHITFIELD

Willem Whitfield is an emerging writer, actor, director and producer based in Brisbane. After completing a Bachelor of Creative Industries at QUT, he went on to star in X Files: The Musical. His acting credits include August Strindberg’s’ A Dream Play, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) and A Clockwork Orange.

Willem co-produced and starred in the interactive, high-energy B Movies: Live which toured both Brisbane’s Anywhere Festival from 2016-2020 and Melbourne’s HOT!HOT!HOT! Festival in 2016. At Anywhere Festival in 2018 he produced the interactive, live-streamed performance “Z24”. Later that year he won the Audience Choice award for his film “The Taste of Fame” which he produced and directed for the 48 Hour Film Project. 

In 2019 he performed in The Game at Woodford Folk Festival and as Albert Crundall in Brisbane Arts Theatre‘s 2019 production of A Picnic at Hanging Rock. He also continued working as a producer with Anywhere Festival on The Telefon, The Nomi Show and a new season of B Movies: Live. In 2020, he worked with the Backbone Senior Ensemble and became the new City Producer for the 48 Hour Film Project.
