As You Like It
By William Shakespeare
Directed By Rebecca Murphy
“We that are true lovers run into strange capers…”
Banished by her power-hungry uncle, Rosalind escapes the court with her devoted cousin Celia and seeks refuge in the Forest of Arden. There, she soon discovers that all the world is indeed a stage, with everyone (herself included) playing many parts.
Join the Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble in the Forest of Arden as we bring As You Like It to life with a vibrant ensemble, beautiful live music, just the right amount of melancholy, and a wrestling match thrown in for good measure!
Part of our 25th Birthday Season, this production takes us back to the Avalon Theatre, a quarter of a century after QSE first staged As You Like It there. Packed with some of Shakespeare’s most quotable lines, this is a story of disguise, discovery, and the joy of finding your people. We can’t wait to share our 25th Birthday with ours!
