Gwendolyn Schwinke
Gwendolyn Schwinke is Resident Vocal Coach at PlayMakers Repertory Company, and a long-time vocal coach and faculty member at Shakespeare & Company, both in the US. Her work as voice and dialect coach has also been heard at Oxford Shakespeare Festival, Atlantic Stage, Frank Theatre, and in multiple university productions. As a director, she has worked with Atlantic Stage, The Playwrights’ Center, The Walker Art Center/Intermedia Arts Minnesota, and several universities.
As an actor, Gwendolyn has appeared with numerous US regional companies including PlayMakers Rep, Carlyle Brown & Company,Oxford Shakespeare Festival, Frank Theatre, Red Eye Collaboration, Minnesota Shakespeare Project, Atlantic Stage, Old Creamery Theatre, Pulse Ensemble Theatre, and Illinois Shakespeare Festival. She is a member of Actors’ Equity and holds an MFA in Acting from Illinois State University.
Gwendolyn is among the few people worldwide certified in both The Feldenkrais Method and the Linklater Voice Method. She serves as a Teacher Trainer for those pursuing designation in Linklater Voice and is a Certified Teacher of Colaianni Speech and Accent work. Gwendolyn teaches in the MFA program at UNC-Chapel Hill, and has taught voice, movement and acting for multiple US universities, The Linklater Voice Center in New York, Kristen Linklater Voice Centre in Scotland, and the Prague Shakespeare Company.
