Isabella Ross
Isabella is a Brisbane based emerging artist who specialises in acting, facilitating and dramaturgical work. Originally from Northern Queensland, Isabella has had a passion for the arts since a young age, with a particular love for Shakespearean text and verbatim theatre. In 2019 , she graduated from a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Drama) at QUT, and in her final year she travelled to Zhengzhou, China to work collaboratively as a facilitator with Arts Spaces for Kids.
Isabella is currently studying Auslan at Deaf services QLD, whilst working on her own creative material. As an actor, she seeks to culminate techniques from all areas of the arts to assist her in achieving her artistic goal. Mass accessibility within Australia is a passion of Isabella’s, and therefore her goal is to design a project which provides the Deaf Community to be their own creators of art.
Striving to be an interdisciplinary artist, Isabella spent 2019 broadening her creative skill set through experience in backstage roles with QSE. Her work with the company includes; Assistant Stage Manager for Henry IV Part I and Stage Manager for The Tragedy of Socrates.
This QSE apprenticeship is Isabella’s first experience acting with the company and she is thrilled to dive further into the Shakespearean language and learn from the companies experienced artists.
