Mikala is an emerging artist in theatre-making and performance with aspirations in the voice-over industry and a passion for media and marketing. She has been interested in drama since a young age and when introduced to Shakespeare in high school, her interest only grew. Mikala has explored three of the bard’s works onstage with New Farm Nash Theatre. Those being The Tempest (2016), As You Like It (2018) and Henry IV Part 1 (2019). She also returned to explore As You Like It as different characters with Thunderbear Productions for Anywhere Theatre Festival in 2021. She also dabbled with musical theatre in a few productions with Brisbane Arts Theatre among others.
Mikala’s other theatre credits include Medea (2018) with Underground Productions and The University of Queensland’s Classics and Ancient History Society. As well as Game of Tiaras (2018) with Re-Act Theatre Group, Strathclyde University’s theatre society in Glasgow Scotland where she completed a semester of university exchange (studying media and communications). Other than acting, Mikala has started to explore the other side of theatre with fulfilling the role of deputy stage manager for QSE’s 2021 mainstage production of Romeo and Juliet.
After completing QSE’s apprenticeship program in 2021, Mikala has come back to QSE in 2022 to fill the role of portfolio manager for events and marketing. She is very excited to combine her passion and knowledge for both Shakespeare and marketing!
