Dive into the techniques that fuel the clarity, energy, and magic of QSE productions. You will receive a carefully selected scene to learn in advance of the workshop and will then work and play with a scene partner and other participants in understanding and embodying Shakespeare’s text.

What to expect:

  • Hone your ability to convey the vivid images and ideas embedded in Shakespeare’s verse and prose
  • Bridge the gap between the timeless scenarios and characters of Shakespeare and contemporary political and philosophical ideas
  • Explore the psychological depth of Shakespeare’s writing, unravelling its richness and bringing it to life in your performance

Prerequisite: None. This course is perfect for artists, drama or theatre teachers, applied theatre practitioners, and students looking to deepen their Shakespearean craft. It’s also a great fit for anyone eager to expand their skillset, reconnect with performance practice, or explore Shakespeare’s text in a supportive, ensemble-focused environment.

CANCELLATION POLICY

QSE reserves the right to cancel all or part of a course if it determines that there are insufficient participants for the training to proceed or if unforeseen circumstances arise. If this happens, participants will be entitled to a refund for any cancelled portion of the course. We accept no liability for any other costs. Before booking flights or accommodation to attend a QSE course, please contact us to confirm your course will go ahead as planned. 

Bookings are confirmed upon receipt of course fees. Cancellations received more than 1 week (7 days) from the commencement of the course will incur a 10% cancellation fee. Alternatively, you may request a credit note for the full fee amount. Cancellations received less than 1 week from the commencement of the course will incur a 20% cancellation fee. Alternatively, you may request a credit note for the full fee amount. 

Once a course has commenced, no refund is possible. Please note that should you need to stay home due to illness, a partial refund or transfer of bookings to an alternate training program will be available upon receipt of a doctor’s certificate. 

Substitutions of participants can be made prior to course commencement by notifying QSE via email or phone call, provided participants are eligible for the course.
